2016 Fall in Review

Fall 2016 Much like how game is supposed to start at 10pm but by midnight you’re hastily duct taping a piece of tarp to a shaky rafter with a $39 fog machine threatening to set the barn on fire, for real, we’re back with a few announcements and quick review of the 2016 Fall New England Sport LARPing schedule. The TL;DR version is simply here – the New England Sport LARP Calendar: http://www.larphack.com/calendar/ General Announcements Firstly, as you may have noticed, we’ve transitioned the New England Sport LARP Calendar, which was hosted off of Xeph-Ink (currently held hostage by...

Vendor Hack – B3 Imagination Studios

Vendor Hack – B3 Imagination Studios A Premiere Maker Space for LARPers and SCAdians alike Before we take a look at B3 Imagination Studios in depth we need to have a quick rehash of New England LARPing Lore, some of which I will probably get a touch wrong but hopefully in a positive-embellishment fashion. Vendor Hack – Monster Camp

Vendor Hack –  Monster Camp Designs with LARPers in Mind! By now you’ve probably bought those masks, you know the ones? They get knocked off 80% the day after Halloween (aka LARPer Christmas) or like 3 months before Halloween at select Michael’s or CVS(es?). Camp Hack – YMCA Camp Woodstock in Detail

Camp Hack – YMCA Camp Woodstock A LARP Camp Site Review Overview Camp Woodstock, located in Woodstock, Connecticut (42 Camp Road, Woodstock Valley, CT to be precise – http://www.campwoodstock.org/) has been hosting LARP events for around 8 years. The site can hold vast amounts of attendees, 300 or more, and has a fully staffed dining facility and several decent module buildings. Three things really make Camp Woodstock shine; 1) it is one of the few weatherized sites allowing for winter events 2) the camp constantly improves all their buildings, tearing down to the studs and entirely refinishing a cabin...

Vendor Hack – Half Moon

Vendor Hack Half Moon – the best $20 $265+ dollars you’ll ever spend At the point where you’ve put a few events under your belt, remembered at least 6 other PCs names, and suffered through rain, wind, snow, hail, mud, sleet and the dreaded rainmudsleetwind™ it’s time to put in a few extra hours at work and buy “that” coat and/or cloak and/or cowl. You know the one – everyone else at the game seems to have it in either black, grey, green or a dark brown. They are a staple of LARPing in bad weather (forever shorted to...
